I already talked about Poland in my previous post, but this time I want to focus on Krakow itself and, specifically, on the job perspective.
As already mentioned, this city is not just about hot girls and cheap alcohol but also a good place where to start a real career.
Here you can find many companies and corporations known worldwide, probably based in Krakow due to the cheap labor and I don't know for what other reasons.
I am talking about enterprises like Arvato and Teletech (Google),IBM, Nokia Siemens, Sabre, Autodesk, Shell, Euroclear, HCL, Phillip Morris, Capgemini, Unicredit, UBS, HSBC, Tesco, Cathay Pacific, Low cost Travel (before closing for bankruptcy), Lufthansa....
So you can really go from banking to IT, from tourism to HR... All depending on your background and preferences.
Experience is not really "a must" as most of them will give you the training where you can learn all about the company you will work for and their policies. These are proper classes with books, personal laptops for all employees and qualified trainers (something I could not imagine happening in Italy for example).
You do not need to know Polish at all (in 1 year I managed to learn only how to ask for a beer) cause usually these companies are divided into markets (most popular ones are Italian, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Arabic, Russian...) and you would need to speak only the language you are fluent in.
Of course you need to learn English before getting a job, but it doesn't have to be necessarily fluent.
Salaries are well balanced considering the cost of living. For beginners speaking the "most common languages" they are usually around 900-1200 euros (English, Italian ,Spanish, French, German) and you can reach 2000 euros par month if you speak Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Danish...
By getting 900 euros or even less, you can still manage to have a proper life with a flat near the center, eat out often, and still get wasted in the weekends.
This is something that, for example, I would have never seen in the UK where your salary, well mine at least (around 1000 euros) could barely pay the rent and transport which got me into the obligation of finding a 2nd job, which brought me to the point where I did not have a life with 1 day off where I just had to sleep, which bought me a lot of frustration and a miserable existence.
So folks, if you want to build your CV and get to start in a field where everyone else ask you for a master degree in political- biotechnological- engineering-space sciences, come to Krakow!
Here you'll get the right experience to climb whenever you want to!
